Michael Bennett brings a wealth of experience as well as a deep understanding of South American culture and logistics. With over 30 years of mining experience (23 years in South America) he was responsible for overseeing mining and exploration projects with over 100 employees in Brazil and Mexico for ECI. Mr. Bennett has also held senior local government appointments in South America including Mayor of Porongo, Bolivia; President of the Municipal Association, Bolivia; and President of the Chamber of Mines in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Responsible for three gold discoveries including Altamira’s Cajueiro gold project (0.7Moz), Serabi Gold’s Coringa project (1.1Moz), both of which are located in Central Brazil, and Puquio North (0.5Moz) in Bolivia.
Dr. Carter is trained as a geologist and has over 30 years of industry experience and was formerly employed by Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton mainly in South America where he lived for 10 years. He was a co-founder of Peregrine Metals (acquired by Stillwater Mining in October 2011) and Magellan Minerals (acquired by Anfield Gold in May 2016 and now part of Equinox Gold). He has been directly involved with 4 gold discoveries in Brazil including the discovery of the TZ deposit (2Moz) which is now owned by Eldorado Gold, and is Chairman of Fremont Gold and CEO of Cabral Gold.
Soraia Morais is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CMA with over 15 years of experience in accounting and financial management. She started working in the resource sector in 2009. Prior to that, she accumulated an extensive business background including managing her own business and spending 5 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers Brazil. She is a dual citizen of Canada and Brazil and fluent in English and Portuguese, with working knowledge of Spanish. She has a University of British Columbia Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from Brazil.
Ian Talbot is currently the President and CEO, and a Director of Arcus Development Group Inc. and has over 25 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry as both a lawyer and an exploration geologist. As a geologist, he has worked with both junior and major resource companies. As a lawyer, he has practiced exclusively in the areas of mining and securities law in private practice and as in-house counsel with BHP Billiton World Exploration Inc.
Pieter Le Roux
Pieter Le Roux has a BCom (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg and is a Member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a Member of the Singaporean Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Pieter has significant finance, policy, legal, regulatory experience across a range of jurisdictions including Canada and Brazil, and has worked at Board and senior executive level in Australia, Singapore, China, Korea, Japan, India, Switzerland, UK, The Netherlands, USA, Brazil, Peru & Chile. From 1997 to 2017, he was employed by BHP in a variety of senior executive roles.
He is currently a non-executive director of International Gulf Mining which is developing a bauxite deposit in Guinea, and was previously a non-executive director of PanAust Limited from 2016 to 2023. Pieter was also Vice President and Managing Partner of Cyient Limited from 2018 to 2024. Cyient is a technology, asset performance and management consulting organization with 15,000 staff in 19 countries.
Ioannis (Yannis) Tsitos is currently the President and a Director of Goldsource Mines Inc. and has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, having spent 19 years with the global resources company BHP Billiton. A physicist-geophysicist, since leaving BHP Billiton he has been instrumental in the identification, negotiation and execution of numerous exploration agreements with juniors, majors, as well as with state exploration and mining companies. Mr. Tsitos has also been part of two discovery teams during his tenure with BHP Billiton in porphyry-copper and nickel-sulphide deposits.
Mr. Santos is a Lawyer with more than 18 years of post-qualification experience, and currently provides financing, trading and operational expertise in his capacity as an Executive Director of Salinas Gold Mineração Ltda, a gold producer in Brazil that has brought a number of small mines into profitable production.
He began his career in the administrative side of the Federal and Judicial Courts of Brazil, before moving on to Veirano Advogados Associados, which is one of the largest law firms in South America, where he gained international knowledge and exposure. He specialized in the mining sector providing services for the largest companies in Brazil. Since moving into industry, he has had extensive operational experience as Director and General Manager of Ashburton Minerals Ltd. and Cleveland Mining Company Ltd.
Elvis Alves is a Brazilian geologist focused on mineral exploration and mining. He is also Project Manager for Alta Floresta Mineração.
